The event where hospitality marketers get honest.
No slides. Just good conversation.
The Big Debrief is part therapy session, part industry chin-wag, part reality check, designed for the people who are always “on”, always delivering, and rarely given the space to reflect.
Join us for a morning of real talk, shared trauma, light-bulb moments and the kind of peer support you can’t get anywhere else. We open with speakers sharing the stories setting the tone for an open, judgment-free conversation.
What follows is an unfiltered group conversation with the room about the realities of hospitality marketing: the pressure, the wins, the wobble moments, the things we wish someone had told us sooner. You’ll laugh, you’ll breathe out, you’ll feel seen. And you’ll walk away with new connections who feel more like colleagues than strangers.
If you’ve ever wished for a space to talk about the messy, human side of marketing… this is it.
OUR SPEAKERS
-
“Decisions made around the restaurant table, not the board table.” Kate will talk candidly about the impact of excluding the customer voice from senior decision-making, and how leadership teams that rely on opinion, hierarchy or habit slowly erode confidence, culture and performance. Drawing on her experience at New World Trading Co., she’ll share how flipping that model; actively listening to guests, teams and frontline insight rather than defaulting to boardroom assumptions, has driven stronger results and a more confident, aligned business.
-
Finding the balance between brand and digital. Jen will explore one of the most common and quietly frustrating tensions in modern marketing: the false divide between brand-led and digital-first thinking. Drawing on her role leading digital across a multi-brand hospitality group, she’ll talk candidly about areas where this tension shows up most: social media, CRM and websites and why none of them work when treated as purely performance or purely brand channels. Expect an honest conversation about explaining this balance to exec teams, making it work in practice, and delivering meaningful results when execution often sits with small or junior teams.
-
When sustainability becomes “a marketing problem” to solve. Anna will talk candidly about the challenge of taking a topic that’s often seen as worthy, complex or dull and turning it into something people actually care about. From engaging teams and guests to avoiding greenwashing and checkbox messaging, she’ll explore how marketers are increasingly expected to carry sustainability on their shoulders. Expect an honest conversation about creativity, tone, storytelling and enthusiasm and how to make sustainability feel relevant, motivating and genuinely exciting, rather than another obligation on an already full marketing to-do list.
