The event where hospitality marketers get honest.
No slides. Just good conversation.
The Big Debrief is part therapy session, part industry chin-wag, part reality check, designed for the people who are always “on”, always delivering, and rarely given the space to reflect.
Join us for a morning of real talk, shared trauma, light-bulb moments and the kind of peer support you can’t get anywhere else. We open with speakers sharing the stories setting the tone for an open, judgment-free conversation.
What follows is an unfiltered group conversation with the room about the realities of hospitality marketing: the pressure, the wins, the wobble moments, the things we wish someone had told us sooner. You’ll laugh, you’ll breathe out, you’ll feel seen. And you’ll walk away with new connections who feel more like colleagues than strangers.
If you’ve ever wished for a space to talk about the messy, human side of marketing… this is it.
OUR SPEAKERS
-
When marketing becomes the department everyone points at. Ruth will share her perspective on why marketing so often carries the blame; for slow sales, underperforming sites, unrealistic targets or wider business pressures and how that plays out between operations, founders and finance. Drawing on her experience leading sales and marketing within hospitality businesses, she’ll talk candidly about navigating tension, building credibility across teams, and standing firm when marketing becomes the easy scapegoat. Expect practical insight into managing expectations, having difficult conversations, and protecting both performance and people when the pressure is on.
-
Sharing how his role has evolved from supporting marketing managers to becoming a true 360° marketer–operator, juggling brand, growth, people, cash flow and the day-to-day realities of running an independent hospitality business. Expect an honest look at wearing too many hats, learning on the job, letting go of perfection, and how marketing thinking changes when the decisions (and consequences) sit firmly with you.
